2017 October Legends Closing November 11
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/12/2017
The past and future of the centerfield position for the New York Yankees overlapped for one season, in 1951, when Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio played together. Although DiMaggio displaced Mantle to right field, the two Hall of Famers were very effective together, combining for 25 home runs and 136 RBI as the Yankees won yet another World Series.
The two centerfielders are photographed with their backs to the camera, Mantle’s now iconic number “7” in full view. Both men have signed this photograph, which comes in a 16 x 12 inch frame, in blue marker. A gold plaque below the picture reads “Joe DiMaggio & Mickey Mantle”. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (Z58637).
