This Lou Gehrig ceramic tile hung in Yankee Stadium for years, before it was removed during the stadium’s renovations during the mid-1970s. This tile hung near the player’s locker room, gently reminding Yankee players of the legacy and weight of their pinstriped uniforms.

This tile features the text “Lou Gehrig / With the Yankees 1923-39” and a short paragraph summing up the legendary accomplishments of “The Iron Horse”, including his career batting average of .340, 493 home runs, and his then-unprecedented 2,130 consecutive games played street. A color photograph of Gehrig standing in the dugout is included on this framed piece next to the text. This piece is framed in a 33 x 14 inch frame. This one of a kind piece is a tremendous artifact from one of the greatest players of one of the greatest franchises in sports.
