Presented here is a white Michael Jordan University of North Carolina basketball jersey signed by His Airness himself. Jordan played three seasons for UNC, averaging 17.7 points and five rebounds per game, before he was selected as the third overall pick in the 1984 NBA Draft after Hakeem Olajuwon and Sam Bowie. Jordan was extremely successful in college, foreshadowing his NBA career. In the 1982 NCAA Tournament Final, Jordan nailed the game winning shot against Georgetown to bring another banner to the Carmichael Auditorium, now Dean Smith Center rafters.
This jersey, which is framed so that the back is displayed, has “JORDAN” and his number “23” sewn on in Carolina blue tackle twill. Beneath the number is embroidered Carolina blue text that reads “North Carolina / 1982 NCAA / National Champions”. Jordan signed the “2” digit on the jersey in black marker. This item, a limited edition eight of 23, comes in a 34 x 42 inch frame. It comes with a COA from Upper Deck (BAG18512).
