Offered is a tremendous item signed twice by Lou Gehrig. In 1934, finally out of the shadow of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig had his greatest season, winning the 1934 Triple Crown and the A.L. Most Valuable Player award. For his achievements, Gehrig was honored with this dinner. It attendance were many dignitaries and former players. One person who was not in attendance was Christy Walsh, Jr. the son of Gehrig’s agent. Gehrig penned an inscription to Walsh, Jr., “To Christy Jr – Tonite’s (sic) dinner would have been a huge success instead of a flop if you were there. My best to you always Cordially, Lou Gehrig.” The back page of the menu is also signed by Gehrig, also by Joe McCarthy, James J Braddock (boxer), Jim Crowley (famed Four Horseman running back) and Bill Corum (sportswriter). Both Gehrig signatures are bold black fountain pen beauties. Item comes with a full PSA LOA #Q99263 & a JSA LOA #X39648.
