The 1951 World Series pitted the San Francisco Giants, coming off a dramatic playoff to determine the NL pennant winner, and the New York Yankees, who won the American League by a comfortable five game margin. The Yanks, led by AL MVP Yogi Berra and Rookie of the Year Gil McDougald, would win the World Series in six games, despite dropping the first contest at home. This was the last World Series for Joe DiMaggio, but two ascendant superstars, Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle, made their first appearances in the Fall Classic. Ticket stubs for each game of the series are included in this collection. Games 1, 2, and 6 took place at Yankee Stadium, while Games 3, 4, and 5 took place at the Polo Grounds. Making this collection of World Series tickets a unique and rare collectible are that the seat numbers are the same for all six tickets (Seat 1), despite them being in two different venues and spread out over six games.
