Presented here is a collection of five yearbooks and World Series programs from the 1950’s and 1960’s. Chronologically, the first program is from the 1951 World Series, contested between the New York Yankees and New York Giants. The Yankees won this series in six games, in the final season for Joe DiMaggio and first for Mickey Mantle. This program features the lineups for Game 1, which featured players like DiMaggio, Mantle, Berra, and Mays, written in the program in blue pen. It is in good condition. The next World Series program is from 1962, another matchup of the Yankees and Giants. This time the series went seven games, with Ralph Terry throwing a complete game shutout in the deciding Game 7 to lead the Yankees to a 1-0 victory and yet another World Series title. This program is in fair condition.
The remaining three items are yearbooks. The first is for the San Francisco Giants 1967 season, when the team went 91-71, good for a second place finish in the National League. This yearbook is in excellent condition. Next is a yearbook from the Oakland Athletics 1968 season, their first in the Bay Area after moving from Kansas City. This yearbook is also in excellent condition. The final yearbook is the Giants 1968 edition. It is in very good condition.
