Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi wore this jersey on December 11th, 2016, in the midst of his breakout campaign. The Dolphins beat the Arizona Cardinals 26-23 in Miami, running their record to 8-5 on the season. Ajayi ate up yardage for the ‘Fins during this contest, rushing for 48 and picking up an additional 15 through the air. An Andrew Franks field goal as time expired in the game handed the Dolphins their hard-fought three point victory.
2016 was Ajayi’s second pro season, and the former Boise St. Bronco proved that he is the Dolphins feature back. Ajayi rushed for 1,272 yards in only 12 starts, picking up eight touchdowns on 4.9 yards per carry and 151 yards through the air. This jersey is white, with Ajayi’s number “23” sewn on the front, back, and shoulders in teal, dark blue, and orange tackle twill. “AJAYI” is sewn on the back in teal and dark blue tackle twill over a white nameplate. A Dolphins’ logo is sewn on each sleeve beneath an orange Nike swoosh. “DOLPHINS” is sewn on the chest in teal and orange, while “MIAMI” is sewn in orange on the back inside collar. A NFL shield is applied to the collar. A Nike size “38 LINE” tag with an attached “2016” flag is sewn on the back inside collar. This unwashed jersey shows very good signs of use, and comes with a LOA from Ajayi himself.
