Rodriguez’s MVP number included 54 home runs and 156 RBI, both tops in the American League, all while batting .314. A-Rod hit his 50th and 51st home runss of the 2007 season using this bat, both of Kansas City Royals pitcher Brian Bannister during the Yankees 11-5 victory over the Royals at Kauffman Stadium on September 8th. These were also career home runs 514 and 515 of what would be 696 career home runs and Rodriguez became the first exclusively right handed hitter to hit 50 home runs in a season for the Yankees. This Louisville Slugger C271L model bat shows good game use and is un-cracked. There are numerous ball marks and stitch impressions present throughout the barrel, and the handle has a light coating of pine tar. A-Rod has signed the barrel and added the inscription “Game Used 9-8-07 Career HR #514 516 1st Yankee RHP 50th HR”, and a photo of the slugger signing this bat is reproduced on the LOA.
