New York Yankees starting pitcher Jimmy Key wore this jersey during the strike-shortened 1994 MLB season. Key led the American League in wins that season, finishing with a record of 17-4 in only 25 starts. An All-Star in 1994 with a 3.26 ERA, Key finished in second place in the American League Cy Young Award voting behind his future teammate David Cone. Key played two more seasons with the Yankees after 1994, before retiring after a two-year stint with the Baltimore Orioles.
This white, button down pinstriped home jersey has the Yankees interlocking “NY” logo sewn on the left breast in navy blue tackle twill. Key’s number “22” is sewn on the back of the jersey in navy blue tackle twill. A MLB 125th Anniversary patch is sewn on the right sleeve. The front left tail of this jersey has Russell Athletic size “42” and “22 Key 94” tags sewn on, with “100% Polyester” and “’+1” Armhole Opening’” flags attached. This jersey, which shows light to moderate use, comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
