Red Sox ace Chris Sale is on pace to be the runaway winner of the 2017 American League Cy Young Award in his first season in Boston. Sale has been a dominant pitcher in the American League for the Chicago White Sox since his debut in 2010 as a 21-year-old. Before joining the White Sox, Sale spent four games with the affiliate Winston-Salem Dash of the high Single A Carolina League in 2010.

     Presented is this button-down home white Rawlings Winston-Salem Dash jersey that was worn by Sale during his brief tenure with the club in 2010. Sale appeared in four games with the Dash and as is customary with minor league teams, jerseys are often re-cycled and used by multiple players during its use, and this jersey has been worn by six additional players. “DASH” is sewn on across the chest in purple and black tackle twill with some orange accents and a baseball at the end. “14” is sewn on the center left chest in purple and black tackle twill and purple piping runs around the collar and down both sides of the buttons. Purple piping also runs around the sleeve ends. The back of the jersey has “14” sewn on in purple and black tackle twill and “HAWKINS” sewn on in purple tackle twill on a white name plate. The last player to wear this jersey was outfielder Courtney Hawkins in 2012 and is currently still in the White Sox minor league system. Also on the back of the jersey is the Minor League patch and an American Flag patch outlined in yellow. The left sleeve has the Dash logo patch above the Rawlings logo embroidered in purple. Included with this lot, is a white name plate with “SALE” stitched on in purple tackle twill that was once attached to this jersey. This jersey shows moderate game use and shows the various stitch marks from the six additional players that have worn this jersey. This item comes with a full LOA from the Winston-Salem Dash, who certify that this jersey was worn by pitcher Kevin Asselin in 2009, catcher Chase Blackwood in 2010, Chris Sale in 2010, pitcher Matt Wickswat in 2010, pitcher J.R. Ballinger in 2011, pitcher Ryan Buch in 2010 and finally Courtney Hawkins.
