Tino Martinez held down first base for the Bronx Bombers in 1999 and 2000, when he used this bat. Those years correspond to that last two of three consecutive World Series Championships won by the Yankees. For his part, Martinez’ seven-year career with the Yankees comprised 192 HR, 739 RBI, 566 R, and a .276 BA. Not bad for the 14th overall pick in the 1988 draft. Martinez was integral to the Yankees domination at the turn of the century. Much of that power came from a bat like this one.

Martinez’ intact, 34-inch, 31.4-oz, game-used ash Louisville Slugger (Model M356) with black finish shows evidence of heavy use. There are several ball marks that include blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs. Cleat indentions around barrel are evident. A light coating of pine tar is on the lower handle, with a heavier coat higher, eclipsing the label. The knob exhibits grain swelling and a silver inked “24.” The model number, length, and weight specs have been confirmed by the manufacturer’s ordering records as being requisitioned by Martinez sometime between 1999 and 2000. Martinez signed his name in silver marker on the barrel and this bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B07829) and has been graded a perfect GU 10 and a COA from Steiner Sports for Martinez’s signature.
