Jeff Bagwell’s slugging often drew comparisons to Babe Ruth, but in 2002 he gave fans another reason to compare him to the Bambino. On August 27, Bagwell met with a young cancer patient who asked him to hit a home run for him at that day’s game. Bagwell told the boy “I’m going to try, but I’m not Babe Ruth”. In the fifth inning, Bagwell sent a ball over the left field wall and pointed to the boy in the stands as he triumphantly rounded the bases. Bagwell wasn’t Babe Ruth, but he sure came close!

This offered Louisville Slugger B363 model bat was used by the recently elected Hall of Famer during the 2002-2005 seasons. This bat displays outstanding use and is un-cracked. There are numerous ball marks, stitch impressions, cleat imprints and blue ink transfers present throughout the barrel. Bagwell’s number “5” has been hand written in gold marker on the knob. Bagwell has signed his name in silver marker on the barrel and this bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14563) for the game use and has been graded a perfect GU 10. There is also a COA from PSA/DNA (AD28257) for the signature.
