In 1994, Gary Sheffield spent his first full season with the Florida Marlins. The Marlins were also entering their second year as a franchise and Sheffield began to display the power that would see the slugger hit 509 career home runs. Sheffield, in the strike shortened season, belted 27 home runs and drove in 78, while maintaining a solid .276 average.

Offered is this Louisville Slugger C271 model bat that was used by Sheff during the 1994 season for home run number six off of Atlanta Braves pitcher and future Hall of Famer Tom Glavine. Sheffield hit his home run to left field in the first inning of the Marlins 4-3 victory on April 25th. This bat shows light use and is un-cracked. There are some ball marks present on the barrel and Sheffield’s number “10” and the bat’s model number “C271” have been hand written in silver marker on the knob. The handle has been taped in a criss-cross pattern to enhance the grip. Sheffield has signed his name in silver marker on the barrel and added the inscription “Home Run #6 off Tom Glavine 4/25/94” and “#10”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14577) for the game use, attributing this bat to the specific home run and a COA from PSA/DNA (AD28256) for the signature.
