In 1979 the USC Trojans put together a masterful undefeated season, compiling a record of 11-0-1 capped off by a 17-16 Rose Bowl victory against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Charles White, the Trojans star running back, claimed the Heisman and Maxwell Trophies after rushing for over 2,000 yards and 19 touchdowns. USC ended the season as the second ranked team in the AP Polls, behind only Bear Bryant’s Alabama.
This football is tan, with a white autograph panel. “USC vs Ohio State” and “Rose Bowl 1980” are printed on the white panel in black text above and below a red rose. This football features over 30 signatures from the ’79 Trojans, including Charles White, Marcus Allen, Keith Van Horne, Joe Murray, Pat McCool, Scott Tinsley, Bruce Matthews, Marc Mitchell, Ken Jordan, Mike McDonald, Chris Foote, Paul McDonald, and several more. The signatures on this football have been written in black and green pen. This item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA.
