Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice, the highest scoring position player in NFL history, wore this red home jersey during the San Francisco 49ers 1997 season. Rice only played in two games in 1997 after tearing the ACL and MCL in his left knee during week one. Somehow, Rice returned only 14 weeks later, appearing in the Niners week 15 game against the Denver Broncos, the only home game he played in during the 1997 season. Rice caught three passes for 40 yards and a touchdown in this game, but injured his knee again coming down with the TD catch. Rice played until 2004, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.

This red jersey has Rice’s number “80” sewn on the front, back, and shoulders in white, gold, and black tackle twill. “RICE” is sewn across the back shoulders in white and black tackle twill over a matching red nameplate. White and black stripes, as well as a 49ers logo, are screen printed on each sleeve below an embroidered Reebok logo. A Reebok tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. Rice signed the “0” on the back of the jersey in black marker, inscribing “G.O.A.T” in addition to his signature. This jersey shows light wear, and comes with a LOA from JSA for the signature and a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema for game use.
