In 1964, Yogi Berra took the reins of the New York Yankees for the first time, leading a power-packed Yankees squad to yet another American League pennant. The Yanks won 99 games, finishing one game ahead of the Chicago White Sox to set up a World Series matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals. Unfortunately for the Yankees, Bob Gibson kept their bats in check as the Cardinals fought to a seven game World Series victory.

This Official American League Joseph E. Cronin baseball has been signed by 26 members of the Yankees, with the signatures of Hall of Famers Yogi Berra and Mickey Mantle on the sweet spot, and Hall of Famer Whitey Ford appearing on the panel to the south of the sweet spot. Other signatures include Roger Maris, Elston Howard, Jim Bouton, Tony Kubek, Bobby Richardson, Ralph Terry, Harry Bright, Al Downing, Bill Stafford, Bob Meyer, Phil Linz, Hal Reniff, Hector Lopez, Pete Mikkelsen, Clete Boyer, Bud Daley, Joe Pepitone, Johnny Blanchard, Steve Hamilton, Tom Tresh, and several more. These signatures have been written in black pen, and the baseball comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (A01493).
