The New York Yankees thoroughly dominated American League competition as they strode to the pennant in 1960, finishing with a record of 97-57, eight games ahead of the second place Baltimore Orioles. Roger Maris earned the first of his two consecutive American League MVP Awards, Mickey Mantle bashed 40 home runs, and Moose Skowron had the best season of his career. The Yankees also dominated the World Series, outscoring the Pittsburgh Pirates 55-27 and winning three games by more than 10 runs. Unfortunately for the Yanks, they lost four close games, including Game 7 on a walk-off home run by Bill Mazeroski, dooming the AL ballclub to a seven game World Series loss.

This Official American League Joseph E. Cronin baseball has been signed by 24 members of the ’60 Yankees, with Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford signing the sweet spot. Hall of Fame manager Casey Stengel signed this ball, as well as Roger Maris, Elston Howard, Bill Skowron, Bob Cerv, Louis Arroyo, Bobby Shantz, Clete Boyer, Tony Kubek, Jim Coates, Art Ditmar, Johnny Blanchard, Ralhp Terry, Bob Turley, Hector Lopez, Bill Short, Bobby Richardson, Gil McDougald, and several more. The signatures on this ball have been written and black pen. They exhibit slight fading, but remain very readable. This baseball comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (S03139).
