While stars like Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra enjoyed much of the spotlight during the New York Yankees dynastic 1950s, credit was always due to solid second baseman Billy Martin. An All-Star in 1956, Martin won four World Series with the Yankees during the 1950s. After his playing career ended, Martin became a well-traveled manager with a reputation for having a mercurial temper. Martin managed the Yankees to a World Series title in 1977, during the first of his four separate stints with the Bronx ballclub. Martin signed the sweet spot of this baseball, an Official American League Bobby Brown baseball, in black pen. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (Z06318).
