During a 1933-34 promotion, Goudey Gum Co. offered a selection of four premiums that were available only by mail in exchange for Goudey baseball wrappers. These substantial pieces were produced on thick cardboard stock and designed with foldout cardboard easel attachments on the reverse sides, in order to allow each card to stand on its own for display. We present an incredibly rare, 11-1/4" x 5-1/4" paper advertising sign that was used to alert the collectors to the availability of these special collectibles. The ad shows examples of the issue's Babe Ruth, A.L. All-Stars and N.L. All-Stars premiums, and states an expiration date of November 1, 1933; a fourth entry -- "World Champions 1933" (N.Y. Giants) -- was added for 1934. The sign shows evidence of one-time mounting as intended (with adhesive strips at ends and tack holes). Its red-and-black graphics are intact and its illustrations of the valuable premiums are perfect. Item is in VG-EX condition and is a true Babe Ruth rarity since less then a handful are known to exist!
