Often in sports, getting hot at the right time matters most. The 2006 St. Louis Cardinals proved that very point. They finished with just an 83-78 record, but that was enough to win the NL Central Division. Once the playoffs rolled around, the Cardinals turned up their game to a much higher level. First, they defeated the San Diego Padres in the NL Division Series, then St. Louis beat the 97-win New York Mets to win the NLCS in seven games. The Detroit Tigers awaited St. Louis in the World Series, and the Cardinals took care of them in five games to win the championship. Albert Pujols was the unquestionable star of the team, hitting .331 with 49 home runs and 137 RBI. Scott Rolen added 22 homers and 95 RBI. On the mound, Chris Carpenter won 15 games, posting a 3.09 ERA.

Presented here is a 2006 St. Louis Cardinals World Series Champions ring presentation box. Measuring approximately 6 ½ x 10 inches, this attractive wooden, hinged display case features etched glass that reads “St. Louis Cardinals 2006 World Champions”. A great collectible piece from one of baseball’s iconic franchises.
