The United States Football League (USFL) was a colorful, yet short-lived league, playing games from 1983-1985. With such a short existence, any original items coming out of the USFL can be quite rare. Offered here is an example of such an item – a 1985 Birmingham Stallions USFL Eastern Conference Champions ring. QB Cliff Stoudt threw for 3,358 yards and 34 touchdowns, RB Joe Cribbs ran for 1,047 yards and 7 TDs, and WR Jim Smith caught 87 balls for 1,322 yards and 20 TDs. This all added up to a 13-5 record for the Stallions, finishing first in the Eastern Conference.
The face of this offered 10K Jostens ring features a football made up of CZs, set on a large colorful stone. “EASTERN CHAMPIONS” is displayed around the bezel setting. Logos for both the Stallions and the USFL appear on the left shank, as well as the year 1985. An image of a team helmet is on the opposite shank along with the name “WOODBERRY”. Dennis Woodberry recorded five interceptions for the Stallions in 1985. In 1986, he played for the Atlanta Falcons and had two interceptions. Inside the band is marked 10K JOSTENS. This ring is an approximate size 11 and it weighs approximately 32.0 grams. This item comes with the owner's original purchase LOA.
