     Dizzy Dean, the last National League pitcher to win 30 games in a season, has signed this Official American League William Harridge baseball. Although Dean’s prime only spanned a few seasons, he made an indelible mark on baseball history for his performance as a member of the 1934 “Gashouse Gang” St. Louis Cardinals. As the ace of their sturdy pitching staff, which included his brother Paul, Dean won 30 games and saved seven, leading the National League in strikeouts and claiming the 1934 NL MVP Award. The Cardinals won the National League by two games that season, and defeated the Detroit Tigers in a thrilling seven game World Series. The Dean brothers combined to win all four games for the Cardinals in the Fall Classic.

     Dizzy has signed this ball to the right of the sweet spot in blue pen. He added the inscription “Best Wishes From” above his signature. This ball has been encapsulated by JSA/Beckett, with the ball assigned a grade of 9 and the signature an 8 (JSA certification Y49783). This item also comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (W08853). '
