Under head coach Raymond Berry, the New England Patriots finished the 1985 regular season with a record of 11-5, yet good for only third place in a very competitive AFC East. Still, the Patriots qualified for the playoffs and once there, they went on a roll. Victories over the New York Jets and Los Angeles Raiders propelled them into the AFC Championship Game. Playing for a trip to the Super Bowl, the Patriots defeated the Miami Dolphins, 31-14. Eventually, the Chicago Bears would end New England’s run in the Super Bowl. Craig James rushed for 1,227 yards to pace the offense while Andre Tippett led the defense with 16.5 sacks.
Offered here is a Balfour 10K gold 1985 New England Patriots AFC Championship prototype ring, highlighted by a dazzling 105 points total diamond weight. “PATRIOTS AFC CHAMPIONS” is displayed in relief lettering around the bezel setting of the large colored stone set in the center. The size of this ring is approximately a size 11 with its weight an approximate 32.4 grams. This item comes with a Balfour ring box and the owner's original purchase LOA.
