Introducing… The Beatles was the first opportunity for an American audience to hear the music of The Beatles. Released in January of 1964 by Vee-Jay Records, it came out one week before Meet the Beatles!, which was released on the competing Capitol Records. Even though Meet the Beatles! was released after Introducing, it entered the charts first and occupied the top spot for 11 straight weeks, relegating Introducing… The Beatles to the second spot, its home for nine weeks. This album cover features the four Beatles, dressed in black suits and checkered red shirts, with John and Paul sitting and Ringo and George standing, flanking the two leaders. The back of the sleeve has the track listing, which includes beloved songs such as “Please, Please Me”, “Baby It’s You”, and “Twist and Shout”. “B 479-142” is written on the bottom right corner of the back side of the album cover. The record inside is in great condition, inviting numerous spins on the turntable.
