Entering the 2017, Detroit Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera had already surpassed the 400 home run plateau with 446 as he now looks to join the exclusive 500 Home Run Club. Making his 11th all-star appearance, Cabrera finished the 2016 campaign with 38 home runs, 108 RBI and a solid .316 batting average.

     This offered SAM Bat MC1 model bat was used by Cabrera during the beginning of the 2017 season when he hit his first three home runs of the campaign. The first home run came against the Minnesota Twins on April 13th when he took Phil Hughes deep in the first inning of Minnesota’s 11-5 victory. The second home run came the next day on April 14th against Trevor Bauer of the Indians when he hit a three-run blast in the fifth inning of the Tigers 7-6 victory. The third home run with this bat was a first-inning solo home run off of Tampa Bay’s Matt Andriese on May 18th to account for Detroit’s only run in the Rays’ 5-1 victory. These home runs were career home runs 447, 448 and 449.

     This bat exhibits outstanding game use and is cracked on the handle. The barrel is covered in ball marks and stitch impressions along with blue ink transfers and white leather ball scuffs. Cleat marks are evident and a heavy coat of Mota Stick is found on the mid and upper handle. The bat's factory specs are hand written in black ink on the barrel end. Cabrera's number "24" is hand written on both the barrel and knob ends, but covered by the MLB Authenticated hologram. Cabrera has signed the barrel of this bat in gold marker and inscribed “#447, 448, 449”. This bat comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (JB886069) which authenticates this bat’s use during the April 14th and April 18th games. Also accompanying this bat is a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14620), who have graded this bat a near perfect GU 9.5. The MLB hologram also covers this signature and inscriptions from Cabrera.
