Angel Berroa, the 2003 American League Rookie of the Year, wore this glove during the 2001 MLB season. Berroa made his debut for the Kansas City Royals in 2001, playing 15 games and retaining his rookie status. The native of the Dominican Republic hit .302 in his short Major League debut, knocking in four RBI and stealing two bases after being called up in early September. Berroa played nine MLB seasons, with seven of them spent in Kaufman Stadium.
This glove is a black and tan Rawlings model Pro-SL217B fielder’s glove. The web is a tan I-Web with a “Fast Back” wrist. A Rawlings circle “R” logo is sewn on the back of the thumb, a Rawlings tag is sewn on the wrist, and a “The Gold Glove” tag sewn on the back of the pinky. “Angel Berroa” and a Dominican flag are sewn on the back of the thumb. This glove shows heavy game wear, and comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00398).
