The 1972 Miami Dolphins are the only NFL team to finish the regular and postseason undefeated, storming through their regular season schedule and defeating the Washington Redskins in a classic Super Bowl VII. Helmed by Don Shula, and supported by a cast of characters including Larry Csonka, Nick Buoniconti, and Larry Little, the Dolphins perfect record has only been seriously challenged once since 1972, by the New England Patriots in 2007.
This Riddell helmet is white, with a Dolphins logo on the right side and a “Perfect Season” logo on the left. It has been signed by 46 members of the 1972 Dolphins, including Hall of Famers Larry Little, Larry Csonka, Nick Buoniconti, Don Shula, Jim Langer, and Paul Warfield. Additionally, Mercury Morris, Earl Morrall, Manny Fernandez, Garo Yepremian, Bob Griese, Jim Kiick, Norm Evans, Vern Den Harder, Howard Kindig, Howard Twilley, Bob Heinz, Hubert Ginn, Marv Fleming, Otto Stowe, Marlin Briscoe, Doug Crusan, Al Jenkins, Maulty Moore, Charlie Babb, Jesse Powell, and several more have signed this helmet. The signatures, which are written in black marker, come with a LOA from PSA/DNA.
