Roger Clemens had a breakout year in 1986, compiling a record of 24-4 for the Red Sox, with 238 strikeouts and an American League-best 2.48 ERA. The big Texan won both the American League MVP and Cy Young Awards, the latter being his first of seven such honors. Clemens, who opened the season by winning 14 of his first 15 starts, turned in his best performance of the year on April 29th, pitching against the Seattle Mariners at Fenway. Clemens set a new Major League record by striking out 20 batters in a complete game 3-1 Boston victory. The 354-game winner has immortalized that achievement on this Official American League Bobby Brown ball, signing and inscribing “Roger Clemens / ‘20 Ks’” on the panel to the south of the sweet spot in black pen. This ball comes with a COA from JSA (S87319).
