Led Zeppelin were the biggest band of the 1970’s, a thunderous quartet of rock and roll geniuses who created some of the most enduring and well loved music of the 20th century. Fronted by the effusive Robert Plant, Led Zeppelin’s instrumentalists often stole the show, with the frenetic drumming of John Bonham, Jimmy Page’s power riffs, and John Paul Jones’ all-around skill creating the atmosphere that Led Zeppelin thrived on. The band’s musical style was heavily based around the blues, with an addition of mysticism, mythology, and the occult that shaped the burgeoning progressive rock scene in their native United Kingdom and beyond.

Founded in 1966, and active until the death of John Bonham in 1980, Led Zeppelin have sold over 100 million records in their career, one of the highest tallies in musical history. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, alongside acts such as Janis Joplin, Martha and the Vandellas, and The Allman Brothers Band. The three surviving members of Led Zeppelin reunited in 2007, performing at a tribute concert for the recently deceased founder of Atlantic Records, Ahmet Ertegun. This was one of the most anticipated concerts in musical history, with over 20 million devoted fans requesting tickets to see the reunion of the heaviest band in the world.

This guitar, a Gibson Les Paul Epiphone, has a metallic teal body, with a brown wood neck and black head. A white pickguard is present, as well as four brass colored knobs and a rhythm/treble switch. John Paul Jones has signed the body in silver marker, while Robert Plant and Jimmy Page have used black marker to sign their names. This guitar comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (V08751).
