Baltimore Orioles outfielder Nelson Cruz took this baseball for a ride in the bottom of the eighth inning of a June 25, 2014 game against the Chicago White Sox. The Orioles were down 4-0 when Javy Guerra grooved this pitch to Cruz, who led the American League in home runs in 2014 with 40. With three runners on base, Cruz’s grand slam home run immediately evened the score. This game went to extra innings, with Orioles left fielder Steve Pearce scoring the game winning run on a wild pitch. Although Cruz went one for five in this game, his round tripper was the most important moment of the game. This Allan H. Selig Official Major League baseball shows excellent signs of game use. An Orioles 60th Anniversary patch, commemorating their move to Baltimore from St. Louis, is stamped below Selig’s signature. This baseball comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (EK 308082) authenticating this ball to Cruz’s grand slam. This baseball also comes with an 8 x 10 inch color photograph of Cruz hitting this home run.
