Before he reverted to his real first name Giancarlo, Mike Stanton hit the farthest home run shots in the National League. In 2011, the year this all-black bat was used by him, Stanton hit 34 home runs while driving in 87.
As would be expected, this offered Louisville Slugger U47 with a cupped end shows outstanding use and is un-cracked. There are many ball marks and stitch impressions that cover the barrel. Ball marks include blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs that are visible on the barrel, along with some cleat imprints. There is also an impression of a weighted donut, along with a moderate coating of pine tar on the handle. The bat’s date of manufacture “08/25/11”, length “34.0” and weight “31.0” are stamped into the knob end. Giancarlo’s number “27” is written on the knob end in silver marker. This is a truly great early gamer from one of baseball’s premier sluggers and comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B11789) and has been graded a perfect GU 10.
