First making a mark for himself as a fresh-faced kid on the World Series-Bound Florida Marlins in 2003, Miguel Cabrera has continued to improve with age, acknowledged today as one of baseball's greatest active players. His 2012 season was one for the ages as he batted .330 with 44 home runs and 139 RBI runs, becoming the first player to win the Triple Crown since Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski in 1967.

This stunning Tucci TL-MC24 model bat was used by Cabrera during his historic 2012 season and photo matched to the August 11th game against the Rangers in Texas. This un-cracked bat displays outstanding use and has a cupped end. There are ball marks all over the barrel of this bat, which is not surprising, given the 205 hits Cabrera had in 2012. Also present on the barrel are blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs which provide a perfect contrast to the black finish barrel. There is a heavy coating of pine tar on the handle an impression of a weighted donut that is visible. Cabrera’s number “24” and the Tigers’ weight code “11” are hand written on the knob in black marker and there is a mark on the handle that identifies the grain, which has been mandatory per Major League Baseball for all maple bats since 2009.

Cabrera signed his name in bold gold marker, matching the color the Tucci Lumber logo, on the barrel and inscribed “24” and “GAME USED 2012 16th TRIPLE CROWN WINNER”. This bat is a museum worthy piece that comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14670) who have graded this bat a perfect GU 10. There is a STICKER ONLY from JSA (WP092905) for the signature and inscriptions. This bat has also been photo matched  to the August 11th game.
