This base was used on September 18th, 2012 during the Detroit Tigers dominant 12-2 victory over the visiting Oakland Athletics. Miguel Cabrera drove in half of the Tigers runs thanks to two home runs, including a grand slam, his 39th and 40th blasts of the season. Cabrera won the American League Triple Crown and MVP Award in 2012, finishing with a slash line of .330/44/139.

This Schutt base was used as third base during the seventh inning through the end of the game. Cabrera’s bases-clearing blast came in the bottom of the eighth inning, and was the 317th home run of his career, putting him ahead of Ron Cey on the all-time leader board. This base shows light use, and has Detroit Tigers plaques on two sides, and Roberto Clemente Day plaques on the remaining two. Cabrera signed the top of the base in black marker, adding the inscriptions “Triple Crown 2012” and “Career Home Run #317 Grand Slam”. This item comes with a LOA from JSA for the signature, and a MLB Authenticated hologram (EK 275635), which dates use to the September 18th game.
