During a run of seven seasons, from 1947 through 1953, the Brooklyn Dodgers were undeniably one of the best teams in all of Major League Baseball. Unfortunately, they didn’t have even a single World Series title to show for it. The Dodgers made it to the Fall Classic in 1947, 1949, 1952 and 1953, only to fall short of the ultimate prize each time. What was even more frustrating – as if the losses weren’t enough – was the fact that on each of these occasions, the Dodgers were beaten by the cross-town New York Yankees, with the Series twice going the full seven games. At long last, and with great relief to all of their fans, the Dodgers finally crossed the finish line in 1955, reaching baseball’s summit after an epic seven-game World Series victory. Their opponent? Naturally, the Yankees.

Offered is this Official National League Warren Giles baseball signed by 23 members of the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers, the only World Series championship won while the Dodgers were in Brooklyn. Manager Walter Alston signed his name on the sweet spot, while the north panel has the signatures of Jackie Robinson, Sandy Amoros, Jim Gilliam (clubhouse), Dixie Howell (clubhouse), Johnny Podres (clubhouse) and Don Hoak (clubhouse). The south panel has Rube Walker (clubhouse), Gil Hodges, Sandy Koufax, Frank Kellert, Roy Campanella, Ed Roebuck and George Shuba. The east panel has Clem Labine, Carl Furillo, Don Newcombe, Roger Craig, Pee Wee Reese (clubhouse) and Duke Snider (Clubhouse) and the the west panel with Spalding Stamp has the autographs of Karl Spooner, Don Bessent and Carl Erskine. All of the signatures have been signed in blue pen and the ball is in good condition, displaying only minor toning. The stampings are still clear and this ball presents beautifully. This comes with a LOA from JSA (Z42182), who have deemed the signatures of Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, Don Hoak, Rube Walker, Johnny Podres, Jim Gilliam and Dixie Howell clubhouse versions, a common practice in that era.
