Larry Little wasn’t happy when he was traded from the Chargers to the lowly Miami Dolphins after the 1968 season. However, Little was the catalyst that would take the Dolphins out of the basement and into the Super Bowl. Little punched holes in the opposing line and ran protection for running backs Larry Csonka, Mercury Morris and Jim Klick. These men became the core of the Dolphins team that won Super Bowls VII and VIII. After a decade in Miami, Little retired to become the head coach of his alma mater, North Carolina Central University and was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993.

This Dolphins jersey was worn for home games by Larry Little during those back-to-back Super Bowl seasons. The teal mesh jersey has Little’s number “66” on the front in orange and white appliqué. “66” is on each shoulder with five stripes below, also in orange and white appliqué. A Russell size XXL label is sewn in the left front tail. The back has “LITTLE” in white tackle twill on a teal mesh name plate and his number “66” is below in orange and white appliqué. Little has signed the right “6” in black marker adding his number “66”. The jersey shows heavy game use. There are several clubhouse repairs, most noticeably on the top of both of the 6’s on the front and on the right side “6” on the back. There is light turf and perspiration staining throughout as well as numerous small snags in the mesh. The left shoulder has white abrasion scuffs and there are some loose threads throughout. This is a tremendous early 1970s gamer showing all the wear of several hard-fought championship seasons. The jersey comes with a LOA from MEARS (313360) for the game use and has been graded a perfect A10. There is also an additional LOA from JSA for the signature.
