Los Angeles Lakers superstar shooting guard Kobe Bryant wore this practice jersey during the 1999 NBA season. This season, shortened by a lockout, saw Bryant play in all 50 games and set a new career high with 19.9 points per game. The Lakers made the playoffs in 1998-99 for the third time in Bryant’s career, advancing to the Western Conference Semi-Finals, although Bryant and the Lakers would go on to claim the next three NBA titles. The Lower Merion High School product finished his career in 2016, putting up 60 points in one final display of his transcendent scoring ability.

This jersey is a reversible mesh tank top. The yellow side has “LAKERS” screen printed on the chest and a purple Nike swoosh logo patch, while the purple side has “LOS ANGELES LAKERS BASKETBALL” screen printed on the chest below a gold Nike swoosh. A Nike size “XL” tag with a “Length +4” flag is sewn on the purple side. Bryant signed the yellow side in black marker, adding his number “8” to his signature. During the 2017-18 NBA season, both Bryant’s number “8” and his later number “24” will be retired by the Lakers. This item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AB06356) and a LOA from Peter Vecsey.
