The Brooklyn Dodgers were one game away from repeating as World Series champions in 1956, done in by the once-in-a-lifetime performance of Don Larsen and the New York Yankees hot bats. Led by Jackie Robinson, playing in his final Major League season, and NL MVP Don Newcombe, the Dodgers eked out the National League pennant by one game over the Milwaukee Braves.

This stunning Spalding Official League Baseball has been signed by 24 members of the 1956 Dodgers, with Hall of Fame manager Walter Alston’s pristine signature located in the sweet spot. Hall of Famers Jackie Robinson, Sandy Koufax, Pee Wee Reese, Roy Campanella, and Don Drysdale, a rookie in 1956, have signed this ball. Other signatures include Gil Hodges, Carl Furillo, Don Newcombe, Don Bessent, Fred Kipp, Sal Maglie, Roger Craig, Carl Erskine, Dixie Howell, Ransom Jackson, Clem Labine, Dale Mitchell, Charlie Neal, Ed Roebuck, and Rube Walker. Please note that the signatures of Duke Snider, Sandy Amoros, and Don Zimmer have been deemed clubhouse versions, a common practice of the time. The signatures on this baseball have been written in blue pen and have been graded a NM 7 by PSA/DNA, the baseball an EX-MT 6 for an overall grade of EX-MT+ 6.5. This ball comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (W02074).
