Jeter was consistently among the Yankees best performers in 1996, hitting 10 home runs with 78 RBI and a .314 batting average, splitting time between the first and ninth positions in the batting order. Jeter was a stud during the Yankees playoff run, hitting .360 as he helped the Yankees claim the first of the five World Series they would win during his hallowed tenure in pinstripes.
