Willie Mays acclimated to the Giants new home in San Francisco by hitting a lofty .347 and leading the league with 31 home runs and 121 runs. In the prime of his Hall of Fame career, Mays was a perennial all-star and 1958 was no different. In the first All-Star Game ever played in Baltimore’s Memorial Stadium, Willie Mays went 1-for-4 and scored two of the National League’s three runs in the game.

Unfortunately, that was not enough as the American League scored four to win the game. As one of the perks of being selected to the All-Star team, bat maker Hillerich & Bradsby presented each player with custom stamped All-Star Game bats. Mays’ All-Star Hillerich & Bradsby S2 model bat is un-cracked and displays light use. There is discoloration located to the right of the center brand. The model number “S2” is stamped into the knob end and the barrel carries the special “ALL STAR GAME BALTIMORE 1958” stamping with “MAYS” in block letters. A great example of a Mays gamer made specifically for use in the Mid Summer Classic. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14653) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8.
