Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson wore this blue home jersey during the 2009 season, his third in the NFL after a standout collegiate career at Georgia Tech. “Megatron” reeled in 67 passes for 984 yards in 2009, with rookie Matt Stafford as his primary QB. Johnson also added 73 rushing yards, on only seven carries, to surpass the 1,000 yards from scrimmage mark. Despite the rookie Stafford learning the ins-and-outs of the NFL, Johnson helped the Lions improve their record by two games in the 2009 season. Johnson abruptly retired after the 2015 season despite being only 30 years old and still at the top of his game.

This jersey is blue, with “Lions” sewn on the chest in white. Johnson’s number “81” is sewn on the front, back, and shoulders in white, gray, and black tackle twill. “JOHNSON” is sewn across the back shoulders in white and black tackle twill on a matching blue nameplate. Reebok logo patches are sewn on the sleeves, which are accented in black, white, and gray. There is evidence of repairs made on the right sleeve and on the back of the jersey. “09-44” and “S” tags are sewn on the back inside collar. The tail of the jersey has been hemmed and cut, and the sleeves are tailored with a skill position player cut. This jersey shows moderate wear, including dirt and a few minor stains on the numbers. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
