Albert Pujols wore this Nike fielder’s glove in 2002, his second season in the Major Leagues with the Cardinals of St. Louis. Already one of the most dangerous hitters in baseball, the big slugger hit for a Triple Crown slash line of .324/34/127, leading the Cardinals in all three categories. Pujols finished second in the National League MVP race in 2002, foreshadowing the three MVP awards he would eventually claim. Pujols has continued his production at near mechanical levels of consistency, and is the current active leader in home runs (614) and RBI (1,918). In 2002, Pujols started 101 games in left field and 37 at third base, appearing in only 21 games at his future first base position.

This fielder’s glove is a Nike PPro Gold 1226 model glove with a single post triple bar web. “Albert Pujols” is embroidered in red along the thumb slot, and Nike logos are embroidered on the thumb, third finger slot, and wrist strap. Pujols signed the wrist area of this glove in black marker. This glove shows moderate game use and is accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00255) for game use and a LOA from JSA (Z42183) for the signature.
