Presented here is a signed Type I photograph of Roger Maris, taken during the New York Yankees game against the Cleveland Indians on May 25th, 1965. Although the Yankees lost this game 5-1, it was the first appearance by Maris since injuring himself in late April. Maris battled injuries all season, appearing in only 46 games during his second to last season in the Bronx, although he still managed to hit eight homers with 27 RBI despite his ailments.

This Type I photograph shows Maris in the follow through of his swing, fouling off an offering from Cleveland ace Sonny Siebert in the first inning. Maris has signed the photograph in black marker, placing his signature directly over his chest. The reverse side of this photograph shows markings and stamping consistent with a Type I photograph. It measures 7 x 9 inches, and was issued by United Press International. The photograph has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA, who have also provided a full LOA (1P03197).
