The 1910s-1930s was the golden era for baseball trophies. Here we have one of the more intricate of the era produced by the Reach Company, maker of the baseballs used in the American League. The trophy measures 20 inches in height and has a silver metal outfielder leaping for a ball atop a pedestal upon which “Presented to Merchants by W.I.B.B.L. 1932” has been engraved. The pedestal is flanked by a smaller fielder on the left and a pitcher on the right. The piece is mounted on an 8-inch in diameter black Bakelite base with a silver metal ring with “REACH TROPHY” embossed into it. The trophy is in very good condition with some tarnishing to the metal pieces and light scuffing and dings on the Bakelite base. A very impressive vintage trophy.
