Clayton Kershaw has been the best pitcher in baseball since 2011, winning three Cy Young Awards and the 2014 National League MVP Award while pitching for the Los Angeles Dodgers. A left-handed ace, Kershaw wore this helmet during the 2015 postseason. Kershaw again proved his mettle in 2015, striking out an incredible 301 batters in only 232.2 innings of work. His ERA was a sterling 2.13, and included a MLB-best three shutouts for a Los Angeles team that claimed the NL West title by eight games over the San Francisco Giants.
Kershaw started two games in the Dodgers playoff run in 2015, the first and fourth games of the NLDS against the New York Mets. Kershaw was saddled with the loss in Game 1, pitching six innings and surrendering three runs in the Dodgers 3-1 loss. In Game 4, Kershaw threw seven excellent innings, striking out eight while allowing only three hits and one run in the Dodgers 3-1 victory. Kershaw also picked up a hit, rapping a single to left field during the Dodgers three-run third inning. Despite Kershaw’s excellent performance in Game 4, the Dodgers suffered a 3-2 loss in Game 5, eliminating them from the playoffs.
Kershaw wore this helmet during the 2015 playoffs. It is blue, with a vented crown and an ear flap over the right ear, to protect the left-handed hitting Kershaw. A white “LA” logo is applied to the front of the helmet, while “22” and “2015 Postseason” decals are applied to the back of the helmet. This helmet shows outstanding use, including scuffing and wear over the entire surface of the helmet. Size “7 ½” is written on the inside of the helmet in silver marker. The padding inside of this Rawlings helmet is intact. This item comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (JB085463).
