The 1931 Philadelphia Athletics were one of Connie Mack’s greatest achievements, a 107 win dynamo that came within an inch of winning the ’31 Fall Classic. They handled American League competition easily during the regular season before setting up an October showdown with the St. Louis Cardinals. The A’s bats never got going during this series, and the Cardinals won the title in seven competitive games.

This baseball has been signed by 23 members of the ’31 A’s, including Hall of Famers Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons, Mickey Cochrane, Waite Hoyt, Lefty Grove, Eddie Collins, and manager Connie Mack. The signatures of Grove, the 1931 AL MVP, and Hank McDonald appear on the sweet spot of this Official American League William Harridge baseball. Other signatures include Max Bishop, Jimmy Dykes, Rube Walberg, Bing Miller, Jimmy Moore, George Earnshaw, Eddie Rommel, Joe Boley, Phil Todt, Mule Haas, Joe Palmisano, Eric McNair, Dib Williams, Ray Mahaffey, and Doc Cramer. The signatures have been written in black pen. This item comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A81864).
