Hall of Fame pitcher Jesse Haines was a late bloomer in baseball, winning his first career game at the age of 26 in 1920. Haines would pitch the next 18 seasons for the St. Louis Cardinals, leading them to World Series titles in 1926 and 1934. “Pop”, who pitched until the age of 44, won 210 games in his Major League career, including three seasons with 20 or more victories. In 1970, Haines was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame via the Veterans Committee. This encapsulated photograph shows Haines in his home uniform with his hands over his head at the beginning of his pitching windup. A small paragraph of text is printed next to his body. He has signed this 4 ½ x 3 ½ inch photograph in black pen. This item has been encapsulated and authenticated by SGC (AU801244).
