Presented here is a copy of the Time magazine issue from October 4^th, 1948. Joe DiMaggio graces the cover, which was released the day after the 1948 MLB season ended. DiMaggio finished second in the American League MVP race that season after leading the American League with 39 home runs, and all of baseball with 155 RBI. For good measure, DiMaggio added a .320 batting average, his highest since the 1941 season. DiMaggio has signed this cover in black marker. The cover is separated from the rest of the issue.
