Two of the most famous personalities in the world – Muhammad Ali and Pele’ are together in this black and white photograph autographed in silver marker by both legends. Pelé is shown in uniform from behind, with his name “Pele” and number 10 on the back of his kit, kissing Muhammad Ali on the left cheek at a soccer game. Ali was heavyweight champion of the world three times, the first fighter to win the title three separate times, with wins over Sonny Liston in 1964, George Foreman in 1974, and Leon Spinks in 1979.
Pele is widely regarded as the greatest soccer player of all time. The Brazilian played forward for the professional team Santos in Sao Paolo, Brazil from 1956 to 1974, before joining the New York Cosmos for 56 games from 1975 to 1977. Both Ali and Pele transcended sports with popularity beyond their home countries.
