This Official 2016 Postseason Robert D. Manfred Jr. baseball was used during Game 5 of the 2016 NLCS between the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers. The ball was pitched by Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda to Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant, the 2016 National League MVP. Bryant fouled this ball back to the screen behind home plate and it was subsequently taken out of play. Bryant would strike out to end this at-bat, although the Cubs were 8-4 winners in this game. The North Siders won the series in six games and proceeded to win a magical seven game World Series against the Indians to end the franchise’s 108 year title drought.

This ball has been signed by 20 members of the 2016 Cubs, with Bryant and star first baseman Anthony Rizzo signing the sweet spot. Other signatures include Addison Russell, Albert Almora, Aroldis Chapman, Ben Zobrist, Chris Coghlan, Carl Edwards, Dexter Fowler, Hector Rondon, Javier Baez, Jon Lester, Justin Grimm, Kyle Hendricks, Miguel Montero, Mike Montgomery, Pedro Strop, and Willson Contreras. This item comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (JB 783241) and a Fanatics Authenticated hologram (ZZ1115946).
