Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa had a career year in 2017. The big shortstop had a career-high 24 home runs while batting a career-best .315 as the Houston Astros won their first ever World Series title. During that magical season of 2017, Correa hit his 50th career home run in the top of the fourth inning of the Astros 16-8 victory over the Minnesota Twins at Target Field on May 29th. This bat was eventually taken out of play, when he broke the bat on a fielder’s choice in the ninth inning.
This Victus Custom Model CC1 model bat displays excellent use and has large crack in the handle with an approximately six-inch piece of wood missing from the handle. There are numerous ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs on the barrel. There is pine tar on the lower handle and Correa’s number “1” has been hand written in faded black marker on the knob. This is a tremendous bat from one of baseball’s brightest young stars from a milestone home run. This bat comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (JB889505), which authenticates that this bat was used and broken by Correa during the May 29th game in the top of the ninth inning and has been photo matched by Resolution Photomatching to the exact at-bat in which Correa hit his 50th career home run during the May 29th game.
